Pole is an enterprise data platform created at Capital One to serve as a centralized repository for Line of Business reporting, operational metrics, compliance monitoring, and leadership analytics. Designed for data engineers, business stakeholders, managers, and executive leadership, the platform provided a single source of truth for enterprise data while enabling role-based access to critical business insights, application metrics, and performance reporting.
Process
As the lead designer, I partnered extensively with Lead Data Engineers and stakeholders across multiple Lines of Business to understand how teams collected, consumed, and reported on enterprise data. Through interviews, workflow analysis, requirements gathering, and collaborative workshops, I synthesized complex feedback into actionable product requirements and intuitive user experiences.
These insights drove the design of key features such as configurable dashboards, role-based access controls, compliance reporting, analytics views, and application performance monitoring, ensuring the platform addressed the diverse needs of both technical and business users.
Success
The Pole platform was successfully delivered on schedule and achieved broad adoption across Capital One's Lines of Business. Its centralized approach to enterprise data management improved visibility, streamlined reporting processes, and enabled teams to make more informed business decisions.
