Virtual Conference
A virtual conference
The Virtual Conference Platform is a web-based event management solution that enabled Capital One to transition from in-person conferences to fully virtual experiences through integrated scheduling, collaboration, and live event tools.

About the Product
The Virtual Conference Platform was designed and launched at the onset of the COVID-19 lockdowns to support Capital One's first fully remote technology conference. Integrating Zoom, Slack, and G Suite, the application provided attendees with a centralized destination to discover sessions, explore virtual expo halls, access sponsor content, manage conference schedules, and join live events. Designed as a responsive web application, the platform delivered an intuitive experience across desktop and mobile devices while supporting the rapid shift from traditional in-person events to fully digital conferences.

Process
To inform the product strategy, I evaluated features and user experiences across ten existing virtual conference platforms and three virtual reality products to identify best practices and opportunities for innovation. I collaborated with event coordinators, conference organizers, and stakeholders across Capital One to gather requirements and prioritize features under an aggressive delivery timeline. Initial concepts were delivered within days of the company's transition to remote work, followed by rapid cycles of design, testing, and iteration.
The resulting experience featured a simple navigation structure, interactive virtual conference maps, searchable and filterable schedules, calendar integration, custom event graphics, and clear visual cues that helped first-time attendees easily discover content and participate in sessions

Success
The Virtual Conference Platform was successfully delivered within a two-month development window and became the foundation for Capital One's first 100% virtual conference experience. The application enabled thousands of attendees to seamlessly access sessions, engage with conference content, and navigate the event from anywhere. Beyond the initial launch, the project evolved into a scalable conference management platform supported by a robust content management system, allowing event organizers to create and manage future virtual conferences with custom schedules, expo maps, sponsor experiences, media assets, and collaboration tools. The platform played a critical role in maintaining business continuity during the pandemic while establishing a repeatable framework for future digital events.
